for nearly 50 years, The Center for Prevention and Counseling (cfpc) has been serving The residents of sussex county, and other northern new jersey counties, with quality services and programs to help foster hope, health and recovery among all people, with The overall goal of improving community health and wellness that is free from The effects of substance use and addiction. Cfpc's three robust departments, Prevention, Counseling and recovery support, work synergistically to foster addiction free lives, creating a solid foundation for healthy living and ensuring a continuum of care for our clients. Grant and foundation funds enable The agency to provide low to no-cost services to The community, including all ages and economic backgrounds.cfpc's Prevention staff implement programs which meet The needs of The community by providing youth, adults, and families with a variety of cutting-edge, evidenced-based Prevention services in which The agency accommodates schools, camps, businesses, organizations, and other community groups. Trained staff regularly deliver informative, effective and evidence-based curriculum, useful newsletters and campaigns, conduct innovative tobacco and vaping cessation programs, facilitate senior health and wellness events, address social emotional learning in schools (with youth and with school personnel), and tailor Prevention messages and programs for a variety of community groups. Cfpc's Counseling department provides trauma-informed clinical Counseling for youth, adults and families with substance use disorders or co-occurring issues. The agency offers individual sessions for youth and adults, intensive outpatient groups, anger management groups and a variety of trauma-informed groups for men and women.the agency's recovery support department provides services to guide and support people whether they are using alcohol or other drugs (including opioids), want to stop using substances, or whether they are someone who wants to help others find solutions. Recovery support services are offered in person at locations convenient to The participant. Services are also provided virtually when needed. The agency has special recovery support programs to further assist The community, such as meeting individuals in The emergency department after an overdose. Additionally, The recovery support team provides training to law enforcement and first responders to better assist people with substance use disorders. In addition to The services provided directly to individuals and families, The agency also advocates for policies which promote wellness as well as for services and funding to best help people with substance use disorders. The agency is active in The community, and The overall state of new jersey, and builds and fosters partnerships to create sustainable change. The agency takes The lead in creating a holistic and comprehensive approach county-wide. Outcomes and commitment to excellence have been recognized by entities such as The Center for nonprofits, sussex county chamber of commerce, community anti-drug coalitions of america and substance abuse & mental health services administration. Whether through new funding opportunities, new collaborations or new programs created to respond to The vital needs of The community, The Center for Prevention and Counseling is dedicated to creating a culture where all can thrive, which remains as constant as it was in 1974 when The agency was established.
