Program areas at The Center for Water Security and Cooperation
The delivering resources through infrastructure to The neediest citizens (drinc) program published The report of The community task force for Water equity which set out guidelines for access to Water legislation applicable to every community. This program, through its Water access and equity lab, also began The Water utility leadership fellowship, where rising leaders inside of utilities from across The country worked to develop access and affordability plans that ensure all people maintain access to Water. The american Water access survey (awas) also continued, looking at cities within The chesapeake watershed. Cwsc also evaluated and tracked The effectiveness of federal Water bill assistance at The state level.
The international Water Security challenge (iwsc) program encompasses The cwsc's work on setting legal benchmarks for Water Security. This includes research on The impacts of law on The climate resilience of Water and wastewater systems, standards in africa, data collection, and other means necessary to achieve Water Security. Also included are educational and research initiatives that encourage deeper understanding of The rule of law in Water Security.
The building legal understanding and engagement (blue) phone program provided technical assistance and education on Water resource management, international Water law, international criminal law, human rights, international Water diplomacy, and Water and sanitation law in The united states, countries around The world, and at The united nations.
