Programs: youth and family youth drop-in hours our after-school drop-in hours provide a supportive and engaging environment for lgbtq+ youth. Held from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, these sessions offer various activities and support for different age groups. Additionally, special activities such as game nights, movie nights, and art projects are sometimes scheduled for wednesdays or fridays, enhancing The drop-in experience with creative and fun opportunities. Youth and family therapeutic support groups our lgbtq+ youth and family therapeutic support groups, held once per month, provide a safe and supportive environment where families can receive help together while benefiting from separate spaces tailored to their unique needs. Our lgbtq+ youth group, facilitated by a licensed therapist, allows young people to express themselves, explore their identities, and build resilience. Simultaneously, our parent and family groups offer essential peer support, helping parents navigate The challenges of parenting lgbtq+ children and providing them with The support they need for their own well-being. Qvolution youth program qvolution is designed to meet The social, support, recreation, and development needs of lgbtqia+ and ally youth, ages 13 to 24. We're working to prepare our youth for The world and prepare The world for our youth youth activity nights in The drop-in are supportive, educational, and social spaces for lgbtqia+ & ally youth. Qkids qkids is a once-per-month space designed to support and celebrate lgbtq+ youth aged 12 and under, alongside their families. This initiative aims to foster a vibrant, inclusive environment where children can explore and express their identities freely through creative play and interaction. Simultaneously, it provides a crucial support network for parents and caregivers, enabling them to connect, share experiences, and access resources within a Community of understanding peers. Pivot pivot encourages families to be more accepting of their children and stay together with healthy, positive outcomes. This 6-week group for youth and caregivers answers questions and provides support through a safe, confidential, constructive space to address fear and concerns about what it means to identify as lgbtqia+, encourages personal growth and offers Community to support individual journeys. Comprehensive sex education youth ages 13 to 18 can receive (with parental consent) free sex education classes that cover contraception, consent, identity formation, and understanding of hiv/sti prevention, featuring The core values of abstinence, protection, and pregnancy prevention in an lgbtqia+-inclusive and gender-neutral environment. Social cirkish social cirkish, generously funded by The john c. kish foundation, offers a vibrant series of free circus skill classes for youth ages 10 to 19. Participants can explore a variety of exciting disciplines, including juggling, clowning, high wire, acrobatics, and more. These classes provide a unique opportunity for youth to develop new skills, build confidence, and engage in a supportive and creative Community. Seniors act iii senior drop-in The Center's actiii (aging communities together) program provides a safe, fun, and inclusive space for adults aged 50 and up to enjoy a variety of activities monday, wednesday and thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. Participants can engage in games, watch films, and attend educational sessions with their peers throughout The week. The senior drop-in program is free and welcomes lgbtqia+ individuals and allies, fostering a sense of Community and connection among older adults. Men's monday game day game day join us every monday for a fun-filled time playing games with old and new friends. Current popular games include canasta, mexican dominoes, and scrabble. Feel free to introduce us to your favorite game and share The excitement with everyone wize womyn's wednesday The wize womyn group is a dynamic Community for senior Lesbian women aged 50 and above, offering a variety of engaging activities each wednesday. This program provides a supportive and social environment where participants can connect and enjoy diverse activities. Inclusive thursdays features our free lunch and learn program, where invited speakers present engaging and informative topics such as las vegas history, health and wellness, and local resources. This enriching experience is followed by a complimentary lunch provided by The Center, offering a perfect opportunity for socializing and further discussion. Center advocacy network victim advocates provide confidential, non-judgmental support, education, resources, and referrals to on- and off-campus entities following experiences of interpersonal violence. They assist clients with filing protection orders, contacting social services, and helping family members or partners of victims/survivors find resources. As a victim advocate, you will discuss options with victims/survivors, providing them with information, referrals, and support. You will play an essential role in empowering individuals to make decisions, take action, and navigate through crises. The Center advocacy network is dedicated to promoting pathways to stability through focused advocacy efforts. Centering its approach on assisting individuals during their most vulnerable times, advocates prioritize by giving people their own voice and supporting them in finding autonomy. Advocates play a crucial role in empowering individuals to navigate challenges and achieve stability in their lives. Cultural competency training The Center's knowledgeable program staff offer a wide range of cultural competency trainings for companies and organizations. These sessions cover important topics such as hiv, gender identity, and The lgbtqia+ Community. Our expert-led trainings are designed to enhance understanding, promote inclusivity, and foster a more supportive environment within your organization. Community information & resource referrals our information and referral desk staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing valuable information on a wide range of topics, including lgbtqia activities, support groups, and organizations. Additionally, they offer referrals to public assistance programs, counselors, doctors, attorneys, churches, and more. Our team is here to ensure you have access to The resources and support you need, fostering a connected and informed Community. Medicaid, snap, and energy assistance sign-up wednesdays every wednesday, three square provides assistance with applications for medicaid, snap, and energy assistance. This service offers vital support to individuals and families in need, ensuring they have access to essential resources and benefits. Whether you need help navigating The application process or understanding eligibility requirements, our knowledgeable team is here to guide you through each step. Health and wellness free hiv testing and counseling The Center is proud to offer our Community access to The arlene cooper wellness clinic, providing free testing for hiv, syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. For anyone testing positive for any of these we also offer treatment, follow up, and engagement into care. Our clinic is open monday through saturday, and appointments can be made online. We also accept walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring accessible and comprehensive care for all. Healthcare services The Center wellness clinic provides inclusive, compassionate, and high- quality healthcare services to The lgbtqia+ Community and The broader las vegas population. Located at 921 s. las vegas blvd, The clinic offers a range of services including general health check-ups, chronic disease management, preventive care, hiv primary care, prep and pep access, std/sti testing and treatment, family planning, and hormone replacement therapy. The clinic operates monday through friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Appointments can be made online, and walk-ins are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Hiv 101 (prevention training) this course offers a comprehensive overview of essential facts about hiv/aids, including transmission, prevention, casual contact, testing procedures, state laws and regulations, medications, and services available to clark county residents living with hiv/aids. The fee for court-mandated participants is 50 (cash/money order), and a certificate of completion will be provided at The end of The class. The course is available on weekdays, excluding holidays and special events, so please call to verify availability.
