The Character Center

The organization's program services include providing after-school and summer academics, homework assistance, tutoring, general test preparation, Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T.) progress monitoring preparation aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) standards, and character-building to 99 students in K-5th grade (The Character Center); and F.A.S.T. progress monitoring preparation, college application assistance and essay writing assistance, life skills, and ACT, SAT and F.A.S.T. EOC test preparation to 75 students in 6th-12th grade (Character Kids). For students enrolled in The Character Center; 98% of students in K-5th grade increased their GPA and maintained a 3.0 average during the academic year; 93% of students in K-5th grade were promoted; and 100% met the required achievement on the F.A.S.T. progress monitoring assessment. For students enrolled in Character Kids, 95% of students in the 11th -12th grade took the ACT for college entry and earned a composite score of 21; 98% of students in 9th - 11th grade were promoted; and 98% of students in 12th grade graduated from high school.
