Program areas at The Children's Center Utah
Therapeutic preschool program: our therapeutic preschool program (tpp) serves children who face emotional and/or behavioral challenges, including exposure to trauma, that make it difficult for them to participate in a regular preschool. We provide fifteen hours of intensive group therapy each week, year-round, for children ages two to five. In fiscal year 2022-23, we provided 40,878 hours of therapeutic preschool program services.
Consultation, training, and coaching: licensed mental health professionals and early childhood experts provide in-person and virtual consultation, training, and coaching for early childhood providers from a variety of backgrounds statewide, ranging from childcare providers to licensed mental health professionals, pediatricians, and other medical professionals.
Outpatient services: through our outpatient services, trained clinicians provide trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health treatment to children birth through age six. At The beginning of treatment, all children receive a comprehensive mental health assessment. Most families are recommended for outpatient therapy. Some are recommended for additional psychological and psychiatric evaluation. Children demonstrating need for intensive support are recommended for our therapeutic preschool program. In fiscal year 2022-23, we provided 6,592 hours of outpatient services.
