Program areas at The Children's Country Week Association
CCWA delivers summer camp programs serving children residing in the Delaware Valley region of southeastern Pennsylvania. Both day and residential camp experiences are provided. Financial assisstance for children in need are provided by the Organization. Campers receive positive youth development experiences through our camp programs. Each day campers participate in activities that include nature study, sports activities, and swimming lessons. Afternoon activities are designed in an elective format, where children get to pick enrichment activities, which include fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, horseback riding, team building initiatives, and other related activities. Teenage campers receive additional instruction in leadership development and community service projects designed to help the campers become responsible citizens.
CCWA partners with other youth development organizations in connecting children to the outdoors. We are fortunate to have 600 acres of natural resources and three separate camp facilities on our property. We have cabins, lodges, a pond, streams, trails, a gymnasium, a pool, and a team building course for children to learn and grow. We work with our partners in providing enriching outdoor experiences. Representative partners include, Boy Scouts Girl Scouts, youth sports organizations, and other youth groups.
CCWA delivers environmental education programs in the spring and fall seasons. We work with public and private schools in delivering educational programs designed to meet Pennsylvanias standards for science-based education. Students learn in a hands-on, feet-in, interactive environment at our location. Lessons include stream study, wetlands, forest, and team building initiatives. Through these collective experiences, we teach respect and appreciation for our natural resources.
