Program areas at The Children's Place Association
The foster care program addresses The needs of children unable to return to their birth families and in need of a foster or adoptive home. The goal of The foster care program is to see that every child grows up in a stable and loving family. To that end, The staff workto reunite children with their birth families whenever possible and assist their foster families in adopting them if parentalrights are terminated. In our foster care program, 72 children received child welfare serivices and 8 children found a loving home through adoption or reunification with birth parents.
Concentrating on the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, Child Thrive is community-directed, providing education, counseling, mentoring, afterschool programs, and health services in a high-need area of Chicago's westside struggling with gun violence, economic uncertainty, and the impacts of structural racism.
Early education is vital for a child's future achievement, yet low-income families often lack access to early learning opportunities, especially those with children facing illness or disabilities.
