Program areas at The Children's Theraplay Foundation
The three primary programs of our organization are our physical therapy program our occupational therapy program and our speech therapy program. Our physical therapy program combines our child focused clinic with hippotherapy (using The movement of a horse as a treatment tool) to develop and strengthen The gross motor skills children with disabilities require to stand, crawl, jump or hit other milestones. Our occupational therapy program combines a sensory rich clinic with hippotherapy to develop and strengthen fine motor skills that children with special needs require to partake in daily activities (occupations), such as self feeding, self dressing, playing appropriately with peers, motor planning, and more. Our speech therapy program goes beyond The spoken word to help kiddos achieve communication milestones, by incorporating sign language, using communication devices, recognizing and encouraging non-verbal cues, and more.
