Program areas at The Community Hall Foundation
The operation of The Community Hall Foundation Dba Akron Civic Theatre includes presentations of live music (jazz, blues, folk), dance (ballet, contemporary), theater (all-city musical) and occasionally film. In addition, tours are offered and The facility is used for a variety of community-based events. The Foundation also rents The facilities to a wide variety of organizations for The purpose of their presentation of live music, dance, theater, and film. The facilities are also used for other community-based fundraising events, as well as weddings and meetings.
The Community Hall Foundation Dba Akron Civic Theatre provides administrative, fiscal, tehcnical, logistical, and technical support to The city of Akron in relation to its programming of lock 3 and lock 4 parks. Lock 3 hosts a series of free friday night concerts from memorial day to labor day, a series of saturday evening concerts from late june through labor day, and a number of festivals including The rib white and blue festival over fourth of july and The italian american festival The following week. Lock 4 hosts a series of jazz, blues and gospel concerts during The summer months.
