Program areas at The Courage Center
The Courage Center (tcc) provides a safe, supportive, recovery-focused setting for young people and families on their recovery journey by holding multiple recovery focused spaces and events across The midlands. In addition to weekly mutual aid meetings for teens, adults, and their families. Tcc experienced a 152% growth in new participants in 2023. Growth was seen across all demographics including young adults, adults, and famiilies.
Tcc developed new referral partnerships with criminal justice and law enforcement organziations such as lexington county detention Center, lexington county probation pardon & parole, and The south carolina department of corrections. These organzations referred 230 participants to tcc and received peer led recovery services and access to counselors.
The Courage Center (tcc) began offering recovery services in The adjacent county by beginning a family support meeting in richland county. This effort was a result of a partnership with a primiarly african american church and nonprofit. This was a large step in our expansion efforts to meet The needs of more diverse communtiies. The family support meeting and family coaching offered support to over 20 individuals and established new relationships with community partners and churches.
