Description
The Dignitas Project empowers educators and school leaders to transform opportunities for the next generation. In 2022, they worked in 274 schools across various locations in Kenya to ensure that over 73,000 children have every opportunity to gain skills and strength of character necessary for their growth. Also, in response to the COVID pandemic, Dignitas provided training, coaching, and material support to 468 school leaders across 226 schools in Kenya in 2020. The organization added components to its program to help students continue learning and thriving amid the pandemic.

Program areas at The Dignitas Project

In 2023, Dignitas continued its investment in empowering, equipping, and supporting teachers and school leaders to deliver quality learning for all. The organization partnered with 603 schools across 10 counties in Kenya to improve learning for more than 148,000 students. Dignitas strengthened the instructional and site leadership capacities of 3,140 school leaders. As the organization celebrated its 15th annivesary, Dignitis continued to focus its work on transforming education systems in Kenya and beyond by co=creating solutions with system -level actors. Dignitas worked with 50 county education oficers to provide ongoing coaching and support as one of the various efforts to further embed evidence-based practices in government structures and systems. This strategic alignment is consistent with Dignitas' 2023-2028 direction, which aspires to impact student learning far beyond direct programming. Dignitas also engaged in numerous collective action discussions, ranging from the use of educational technology to enhance learning, to gender equality and inclusion, foundational literacy and numeracy, and the transformative role of schoole leadership.
