During The fiscal 2023 year, The Florida Theatre Performing Arts center, inc. Successfully managed another year of operation of The Florida Theatre, a 1,865 seat circa 1927 historic Theatre listed on The national register of historic places, located in downtown jacksonville, The Florida Theatre itself promoted or co-promoted 119 "mainstage" programs of music, dance, Theatre and film; hosted another 31 programs by Theatre renters; presented 28 Arts education performances at The Theatre and took 41 Arts education performances directly to schools. Twenty-nine percent of The Theatre rental events were presented by other non-profit Arts organizations and charitable organizations using The Theatre at a subsidized rate. Total attendance at all performances and event was 165,532 people. The economic impact of The Florida Theatre's activity this year was $15 million, supporting $11.5 million of household income, The full time equivalent of 471 jobs, and $1.4 million of state and local tax and fee income.in addition to opening a new vip room in january (The remedy lounge) The Theatre was closed for The final three months of The fiscal year to complete renovations and improvements that included decorative plaster repair and interior painting with fidelity to The 1927 palette of colors; a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning plant; moving The electrical vault from The first to The third floor; modernizing all The public restrooms; restoring The Theatre's four historic tapestries; and replacing The main stage curtain.
