Scholarships for students of exceptional ability and with financial need. The Foundation views education as a tool for the poor to im Prove their economic condition and funds scholarships to help underserved students that are likely to contribute to economic and So cial justice so that the funding of their education would have a multiplier effect. The scholarship assists qualified students pursue a bachelor's degree in any field of the student's choice. It can be renewed for subsequent years as long as the student remains in good standing in the university. The amount of the scholarship is up to $7,000 and is awarded annually . Students who have received the scholarship arefhave attended UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Brown, and Dartmouth The Foundation also occasionally supports/promotes educational opportunities for the community through arts and culture. Workers-Cooperatives - Sustainable Development. The Foundation offers information assistance, workshops, financial support help those who seek to know more about the cooperative system. The Foundation assisted The Street Vendors People Union in its efforts to develop a workers’ cooperative and a workers’ credit union in their Los Angeles neighborhood The Foundation has also worked with the Eastside Café and its Caracoles Cooperativas in their effort to purchase property in their Northeast Los Angeles neighborhood offering various forms of assistance and financial aid to accomplish their goats in achieving their goals of community self-determumation. oo nnn eee eee een neem
Assistance to organizations that provide legal rights information and education and civic participation in pursuit of its mission the Foundation provides funds to organizations and individuals who provide legal advice and support to grass-roots organizations engaged in economic and social justice issues that are consistent with the Foundation's mission
