Program areas at The Freedom Archives
The Freedom Archives is crucial in documenting a history of social justice movements and making it a resource to contemporary movements. We repurpose archival materials in audio and video documentaries that shed light on subjugated histories.
Researchers: We receive approximately 10 inquiries per week, from all over the world, about specific materials in our archives, additional resources to access and left movement history in general. We endeavor to provide thoughtful, accurate and comprehensive responses.
Interns: Our internship program encourages engagement with historical materials and provides media production training as well as fostering a love for progressive history. All interns complete an introductory orientation program which familiarizes young people with the language, policies and workflow of our archives and helps them identify potential topics of interest.
