Program areas at The General Henry Knox Museum
2023 was a year of expansion as we continued to create new programs and refine existing ones. 3,263 guests toured The Museum from The opening day program of boots on The ground to our closing program of holiday open house. We expanded our scope of planning for our junior docent program, and added new and varied lectures and musical concerts. A new field of flags display was created on Museum grounds during The week containing flag day.
Our summer intern program is an integral program to our overall mission of educating The public to The history of The american revolution and The very significant role General Henry Knox provided. In 2023, we had 3 summer interns who gave tours and conducted projects relating to our mission statement.
The Museum continued its preservation efforts of The building by conducting several maintenance projects. Keeping a 95-year-old structure maintained within The guidelines provided by our maintenance schedule is a constant process. Our position as a contributing structure to The thomaston historical district places us on The national register of historical places.
