Positive relationships with adults mentoring significantly impacts the choices a young person makes around substance use, their sense of self, purpose, and achievement. In 2023, our team led 56 mentoring trainings To support practitioners in our network of 80 local programs. 14 events addressed current topics & new models, including everyday mentoring, lgbtqia+, dei & racial equity, special youth groups, and the overlap of mentoring & prevention. Gpp staff provided training & technical assistance To 13 programs in Partnership with the national mentoring resources center / mentor, while also continuing To work with new haven public schools on the nia project. Young people will thrive when they can engage with adults with similar life experiences, making bipoc mentor recruitment a continued focus. Our work provided immeasurable guidance, inspiration, and coping skills for our next generation of leaders.
Organization stability and visibility, and mentoring.
