Program areas at The Greeley Dream Team
Educational talent search (ets) is The largest Dream Team program, serving over 700 students each year. Ets is a federally funded trio pre-collegiate program that creates educational opportunities for low-income and first generation college students while providing access to higher education and assisting with The transition to college. Ets works with students in The weld county school district 6 who are in grades 6-12 who have The drive to pursue a college education. Services include, but are not limited to, one-on-one academic advising, tutoring, career and college-based field trips, educational workshops, financial aid assistance, and college preparation.
The Dream Team honors scholarship was established by a diverse cross- section of local citizens and community leaders to address a recognized need to close achievement gaps and increase graduation rates. We are pleased to say that in The last 17 years alone, we have provided over 400,000 in scholarships to 400 deserving students. Students must be part of The educational talent search (ets) program at either Greeley central, Greeley west, jefferson or northridge high school and in their senior year to apply.
Dream Team at platte valley re-7: The Dream Team is proposing to take our proven pre-collegiate comprehensive curriculum model to a diverse student population at kersey middle and high school, increasing access to much- needed educational resources in rural weld county. As with all its programs, gdt empowers students from diverse backgrounds to overcome The odds, graduate high school, and enroll in post-secondary education or trade school. This is only possible because of The long-term support continuum that begins in 6th grade and continues through 12th grade - combining individualized and group-based mentoring services that leverage students' unique strengths, fosters confidence, and keeps them on a path toward educational success. This program offers rural weld county students access to stem-focused workshops, enhanced career exploration and workforce skills development through a well-defined, proven curriculum. Gdt's long-range intensive support model will help students be The best they can be while successfully navigating and graduating high school, obtaining a post- secondary degree, and becoming workforce ready, ultimately increasing The economic stability of our county and community.
The Greeley Dream Team alumni program is intended to help former Dream Team students stay in touch with our organization so that we can continue to provide support through college, reconnect with other Dream Team students and make valuable business contacts through The Dream Team staff and former educational talent search (ets) advisors.
