The Griot Museum of Black History creates a community of lifelong learners who explore, experience, and embrace Missouri's rich and enduring African American heritage through compelling core exhibits, dynamic touring shows, and educational and entertaining public programs. Recently, the museum presented "Listen, Look: A Journey Through Black Joy and Grief," a multimedia exhibition reflecting on the lived experiences of the artists, as well as "In the City: Memories of Bl" exhibit from May 6th to May 28th.

The Griot Museum of Black History presented the following activities: Black Herstory workshop with honorees and in January and Black Herstory Luncheon in October; 2/1 Mayor Tishaura Jones launched Black History Month at The Griot Museum; Lois Conley a speaker on Fear of a Black Planet at the St. Louis Art Museum and Stories of Market Street panel discussion at Metro Theater Company; 5/20 A Place of Pride exhibit opens and 5/21 Black Joy Poetry workshops in collaboration with Kemper Museum, Washington University; 8/13 Impact AIDS Memory Circle; 10/8 Informal History Zine launch; MAMA Conference St. Charles, MO in October.
