Preschool program - The School provides an environment where children are carefully guided towards achieving their full potential-socially, educationally, and emotionally through a well-integrated program of group and individual services. Parents are actively involved in their child's progress throughout their School experience. Hlvs utilizes a developmental curriculum which incorporates all of The new york state preschool standards. The School has actual enrollment of: all day preschool (summer) - 161, all day preschool (fall) - 160, half day preschool (summer) - 56, and half day preschool (fall) -56 and inclusion of 15.
Early intervention program (eip) - hlvs provides a year round program for infants and young children from birth to 3 with developmental delays. Our mission is to provide The finest educational and therapeutic services so that every child can reach his or her highest potential. We believe all children can learn and develop within a supportive, competent and caring environment. Hlvs works hand-in-hand with The family of each child to support their participation in The growth, development, and emotional well-being of their child. The program had actual students of 482.
School age - a primary School program for children with developmental disabilities old enough to enter elementary School. The curriculum provides services specially designed to meet a child's needs, including speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, play therapy and movement therapy to develop self-awareness and social interaction. Other services include adaptive physical education and computer education. The School supplements these formal programs with a full range of counseling and psychological services that extend to a child's family. These services incorporate social work and crisis intervention in conjunction with support groups for mothers, fathers and siblings. Educational workshops for families along with informal, referral and advocacy services are also provided. The School has actual enrollment of: summer - 52 and fall - 57.
