The Historic Sharon Burying Ground

Work has proceeded on The repair and re-installation of head stones and their cleaning. To date at least 1,000 head stones have been cleaned, their color improved from black to white. The state of Connecticut inspection of The columbarium took place. The state inspector graded our work on The columbarium as very good. In order to thank those who have helped to clean headstones, who have donated to cleaning efforts and to The work of The Historic Sharon Burying Ground and who have been helpful in other ways to The Burying Ground, a cocktail party was given in their honor.a board member donated 1,000 daffodil bulbs which were planted by volunteers. Broken and downed tree limbs were removed as work on The Burying grounds upkeep continues.
