The History Center of Cheboygan County

The History Center has a single mission--to discover and procure material that relates to The social and historical material culture of Cheboygan County; to arrange for The housing and preservation of its collected artifacts and to maintain a museum in which to exhibit and interpret The objects it collects for The benefit and education of County residents and visitors.during The current year The organization continued constrution of a native american maple sugar camp chronicling The annual migration of native peoples to The straits of mackianc area before The period of european contact;produced a special exhibit of military uniforms of Cheboygan veterans; produced a winter lecture series consisting of four presentations on local and regional History; The organization continues to field research questions through its website, and through a searchable online public access catalog allowing researchers to access The organization's vertical research files.
