Program areas at The Hometown Foundation

At The Hometown Foundation, Inc., we know that pets are family. That is why we are proud supporters of The animal welfare community. Through our initiatives to help animals in need, we have facilitated The adoption of hundreds of dogs and cats, donated thousands of pounds pet food, litter, and medical supplies, helped transport animals out of natural disaster stricken areas, and so much more. The Hometown Foundation, Inc. also hosts a pet month every may in conjunction with iga retail stores. During this month, The stores sell hang tags for $1 or reusable bags for $5 to raise money so we are able to carry out our initiatives.
The Hometown Foundation, Inc. began with a mission to raise money for special olympics and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Foundation has raised millions of dollars for individuals with intellectual disabilities or in need. Through our signature event, The dream ride experience, we bring people together from all over The world to celebrate inclusion and understanding. The Hometown Foundation, Inc. is proud to support special olympic athletes by bringing them to one-of-a-kind events, leadership conferences and teaching them about The importance of a healthy lifestyle. Amazingly, because of your generosity, The Hometown Foundation Inc. was even able to send The special olympics Connecticut team to The 2018 usa games in seattle. However, our initiative doesn't end with individuals with disabilities. We are devoted to helping all those who are facing challenges. In 2018 we started an annual tradition to bring thousands of turkeys to families in The greater new york city area who are unable to have their own thanksgiving dinner. We also sponsor toy drives for underserved children during The holiday season and provide support animals and resources to those suffering from ptsd. The Hometown Foundation, Inc. is committed to helping those affected by major illnesses. We know The stress and pain that comes along with a diagnosis; that is why we developed our year-round major illness initiative. Illness, both chronic and acute, can take its toll on many families. We are proud to support individuals, organizations, programs and studies that assist in various areas of care. Throughout The Foundation's two decades, we have supported various charities for cancer, heart disease, sickle cell anemia, and more. This support has ranged from making The wishes of sick children come true, to funding research and everything in between. We are proud to support The medical community and those suffering from major illness in our goal of creating a healthier community.
The Hometown Foundation, Inc. Recognizes that our emergency response personnel dedicate their lives and time to keeping our communities safe every day. They are always there when we need them most which is why we have made it part of our mission to give back to them. As a Foundation, we fully support our responders through monetary donations as well as necessary equipment, attire, police k-9s and so much more. The Foundation provides educational programs and training opportunities for police and firefighters around The country through our expos and programs. On-site training is provided in our warehouses and company-owned facilities for The response personnel to use at their convenience. At The Hometown Foundation, Inc. we recognize The importance of our military and appreciate their dedication to our country. They help keep us safe every day and we can never thank them enough for all that they do. Here at The Foundation, we provide emotional and physical support by honoring fallen members through The donation of police k-9s as well as donating ptsd dogs to veterans. We have also supported veteran job fairs to assist in connecting and integrating veterans and active duty members of The military. We plan to continue our support for active duty members and veterans through our k-9 donations, ptsd dog donations and fundraising events to increase support for veterans, military individuals and families. We look forward to increasing our involvement with The military community each and every day to help support those who serve our country daily.
