Program areas at The Hope Program

Comprehensive training: Hope empowers new yorkers to build sustainable careers, with a focus on individuals facing significant barriers to employment including histories of criminal legal system involvement, substance abuse, homelessness, low educational attainment and others. Hope offers general career readiness programming as well as sector-based training for growing industries, with emphasis on environmental careers, such as energy efficient building systems, horticulture, solar, and related. Across all programs, Hope provides a comprehensive approach, including essential skills development, resume-writing and interview skills training, industry-recognized credentials, wellness and case management, digital upskilling and access to digital equipment, daily meals and more. Hope job seekers also participate in paid work experience to further hone their career readiness.
Career advancement and lifelong career support: employed graduates receive a year of structured follow-up, including incentives for achieving specific job retention milestones, support in navigating workplace challenges, replacement support of necessary, and coaching to support career advancement. Hope follows its motto: "when you're Hope, you're Hope for life," providing ongoing support at any stage of their careers.
Employer partnership and job placement: Hope engages a robust network of employer partners across The industries for which participants are trained and are seeking employment. Job placements are made through one-on-one matches between graduates and employers; interview events; and ongoing support to graduates in independent job search.
