Organization's mission- The Human Trafficking Institute ("The Institute") exists to decimate modern slavery at its source by empowering police and prosecutors to stop traffickers. In partnership with governments committed to combatting Trafficking, The Institute works inside criminal justice systems to provide The world-class training, experienced mentors, investigative resources and evidence-based research necessary to free victims. The Institute collaborates with local law enforcement leaders in partner countries to produce self-sustaining Human Trafficking enforcement units that measurabley reduce The prevalence of Trafficking.
The purpose of hti's research and writing program is to review federal Human Trafficking cases and collected data for The annual federal Human Trafficking report (fhtr) and state summaries, present findings from The fhtr to relevant government officials and practitioners, write and submit amicus briefs, create content for Trafficking matters.com, and conduct The douglass fellowship for law students interested in The anti-human Trafficking movement.
The purpose of hti's country program is to work inside The criminal justice systems of partner countries to empower police to stop traffickers; to provide necessary training for governmnet officials to effectively prosecute Trafficking cases, and to partner with local anti-trafficking organizations who provide aftercare services.
