Charged with investigating and enforcing The animal Cruelty laws of ny, The five animal Cruelty investigators on our Humane law enforcement team are certified peace officers with The authority To make arrests in Monroe, orleans, genesee, and livingston counties. Officers also assist other law enforcement agencies in investigating animal crimes. We respond To concerns about animal Cruelty reported through our animal Cruelty hotline (585-223-6500), as well as cases referred by 9-1-1 and other agencies.
