Regional information sharing systems (riss) - provide support to riss, which is a national program of regionally oriented services designed to enhance The ability of local, state, federal and tribal criminal justice agencies to identify, target and combat crimes of all types spanning multijurisdictional, multistate and sometimes international boundaries; to facilitate rapid exchange and sharing of information among The agencies pertaining to know suspected criminals or criminal activity; and to enhance coordination and communication among agencies that are in pursuit of criminal activities determined to be interjurisdictional in nature. Riss offers services, tools and resources to aid law enforcement and criminal justice entities to identify, disrupt and prevent terrorist and criminal activities, and to promote officer safety.
Comprehensive opioid abuse program - provide training and technical assistance to state and local criminal justice and substance abuse treatment agencies, prescription drug monitoring programs (pdmps) and their partner agencies to facilitate a comprehensive, coordinated and balanced strategy through grant programs that expand prevention and education while also promoting treatment and recovery from opioid addition and abuse
