The Jalopy Theatre serves as a multi-faceted arts space that showcases folk and traditional music and art from New York City, the Americas, and the world. Its mission is to support artists, foster multi-generational community, and provide enrichment. In FY22, Jalopy hosted five festivals, including the return of the in-person Brooklyn Folk Festival featuring dozens of bands, workshops, film screenings, and jams. Despite COVID closures and cautions, Jalopy hosted multiple virtual and in-person concerts each year.

In fy23, Jalopy hosted 5 festivals, including The return of The in-person brooklyn folk festival, featuring dozens of bands, workshops, film screenings and jams. Despite covid closures and cautions, Jalopy hosted multiple virtual and in-person concerts each week showcasing amazing artists from nyc and beyond. The Jalopy Theatre school of music taught instrument and voice classes to hundreds of adults and children, while employing over 30 teaching artists. The community through music program brought high-quality music enrichment classes to 800 new york city public school students. Jalopy records released 3 albums, including songs of slavery and emancipation, featuring recently discovered songs composed by enslaved people and explicitly calling for resistance to slavery. Jalopy celebrated its 15th anniversary with a free concert on governor's island attended by over 200 people.
