Sponsoring and co-sponsoring public speakers of note who address Jeffersonian principals of freedom of speech and expression and personal freedom and initiative and current issues re same in academia and society. Estimated audience of 2000 students and public, live and via internet. Objectives: educate public and students about Thos Jefferson, his ideals and his legacy; and promote freedom of speech and expression, diversity of viewpoints.
Research and provision of data to UVA Board of Visitors re freedom of speech and expression, diversity of opinion, academic integrity and related expenses.
Communication with UVA students, friends and alumni re freedom of speech and expression issues, academic integrity and University policies and administration. Monitor same. Approximate subscribers, 3500.
coordinate with organizations with similar goals in Virginia and nationally.
