Program areas at The Junior League of San Francisco
Training and development of volunteers: jlsf hosted trainings and placed members on annual committees to further The Junior League's mission of promoting voluntarism, developing The potential of women and improving communities through The effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our volunteers completed 1,442 hours of volunteer and leadership training and The League hosted 43 volunteer training events for its members. 49 members volunteered in League leadership positions (committee chairs, board) to develop leadership skills that can be used in their communities.
Promoting awareness and lobbying around areas that impact our community focus area through our California state public affairs representatives (lobbying) and our advocacy committee.
Community grants and programs - gave $136,000 in "enabling funds" grants to local community programs who further The mission of The League's community focus area.gave $72,000 in grants to long-term community partners who share The League's focus area plus $6,109 in programming expenses in support of projects supporting our shared focus. The League gave 1,662 volunteer hours to organizations supporting The League's mission, focus area, and community. 75 community events were supported by League volunteers.
