Healing arts: The face of justice, a month-long art exhibit for local harlem female artists, with multiple associated public events; second art exhibit: a celebration of light - a celebration of humanity featuring The diverse experiences of women/womynx artists as they reflect on humanity and lightness. Latino film market at Kota.
Economic empowerment: a popup shop for harlem women artists and entrepreneurs; a series of financial literacy workshops for women; a course on social media for women entrepreneurs
Health and wellness: esd global instructor teaching self-defense to teens from The local community; a panel discussion on fgm/c, which unfortunately is a problem locally as well as internationally. Hosting anner imode of imode independence, who conducted a summer workshop for autistic young adults. In september, we were joined by reciprocity foundation offering trauma-informed holistic health services at Kota. Also in september, start of Kota's health equity program: listening and networking session for mission-aligned local nonprofits at women's health forum. Second women's health forum in collaboration with reciprocity foundation on lgbtqia+ health concerns, and a third in december on mental health concerns of women.
Our global agenda included presenting an award from our fund for human rights defenders to haydee castillo, a longtime nicaraguan human rights defender; and a breakfast meeting with The recipient from The previous year, mahbouba seraj of afghanistan. We also were able to cover hospital bills for a female human rights defender in uganda. We continued to use our social media platforms to advocate for women's rights, especially in support of our wider network of
