PHYSICAL/EVERY DAY NEED SUPPORT - We send clothing and related needs on a weekly basis throughout the Balkans, via ship and air. These items are sent or taken to specific places and/or specific people for their needs and for distribution to others. For example, a box may be shipped to a hospital for distribution among children and/or needy adults. The greatest distribution is among refugees from different countries, including nations from the former Soviet Union and the Province of Kosovo. Thousands of pounds of clothing have been distributed among the people of the Balkans, including refugee Armenians, Kurds, Romanian, Turks, Russians and Ukrainians. In addition to clothing, funds are supplied especially among refugees and the elderly for their rent and heating fuel in the winter. We also provide nurturing and care for special need children who are not accepted in society.
EDUCATION - We provide educational scholarships to over 200 children, youth and adults. For the last few years, we started a plan to educate and train as many national Christians as possible. Our hope is that many will go to seminary and serve in their homeland. It is generally for the following situations:- To fund education for students who would otherwise not be able to go to school; or,- To provide a Christian education to students; or,- To provide a vocational education so people can be trained to work.
SPIRITUAL HELP - We support or assist indigenous Christian workers in the various countries within the Balkan peninsula. We sponsor or co-sponsor 4-6 Vacation Bible Schools or youth camps each year.We supply Bibles and Christian literature as needed by these workers and / or churches. When designated, we have supported building of church structures or provided funds to repair and/or expand structures. We also have a ministry and conference center in Litochoro, Greece where Christian workers can be trained and renewed for service.
