Program areas at The Mahoney House
From july of 2022 through june of 2023, we served many survivors with The help of various community resources. We assisted, counseled and advocated for clients within this timeframe. We responded with law enforcement to The hospital for community Crisis situations, supported those who walked through our doors, and maintained our 24-hour Crisis line.the Mahoney House has The opporutnity to be in our local schools providing social emotional learning to The second through ninth grates during The schoool year. We are in schools from 8-10 hours a week. We reached on average about 170 children per week. We utilize two different curricula, one specifically for grades 2-5 and The other for grades 6-9.we have a forensic interview room onsite and one trained foresnic interview who provided interviews for law enforcment over The past year. This is an important benefit to our community. We have adapted out parenting classes to an online platform, where participants could attend from The comfort of their homes. This course is taught by two of our staff using effective strategies for behavior change and The strengthening families curriculum provided by The Idaho childrens trust fund.we participated in several community outreach events during this time period, including our semiannual spud foundraiser.
