Program areas at The Mediation Center
In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, 296 individuals participated in community mediation of 115 conflicts to seek peaceful resolution to difficult and stressful conflicts. Mediation decreases future court and law enforcement involvement for participants and improves interpersonal relationships between family members, neighbors, co-workers, and community members. More than 700 people including mediators, attorneys, mental health professionals, social service providers, professionals, and community leaders attended a training last year. 8 of those completed training to become volunteer mediators. 54 families were kept safe by the Family Visitation Program's supervised visitation and safe child exchange services.
The program provided more than 900 visits and exchanges; all were free from abuse and violence. These services prevent ongoing violence, abuse, and trauma to child and adult victims of domestic and sexual violence.
