Program areas at The Metropolitan Center for Independent Living

See schedule oindependent Living programs - staff members provide assistance to disabled, deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind individuals to help them develop their Independent Living skills. Ramp project - agency provides resources to individuals who need access to their homes through construction of temporary and permanent ramps. Youth disabilities - agency works with disabled youth who are leaving school and home and are moving toward employment and Living in The community. These services provide training, support and information to assist in The transition of youth into their adult roles. Information services - disability linkage line, information and referral services offer referral and assistance with community resources and housing. Peer mentoring - provide one-to-one contact for sharing information and experiences with an assigned peer. Housing - referral program to assist persons needing systemic issues that affect The lives of persons with disabilities. Workforce development Center - provide soft skill training to consumers with workforce development centers in Minnesota. Americans with disabilities act (ada) program - The Center provides staff support to The great lakes disability and business technical assistance Center - Minnesota committee. Staff also assists businesses and offers training and classes on ada. Nursing home relocation - provide services to individuals relocating form The nursing facility to their own home and assists with arranging and moving and household setup.
