Program areas at The Modern Maturity Center
Mature neighborhood nutrition program (manna) - provides anyone 60 years of age and older with nutritionally sound meals at nutrition sites and at home for those who can't attend a site. A total of 540,000 meals were served to sites and homebound clients.
Social and recreational program - provides both active and passive individuals and groups forms of self-expression and participation for 5,700 members. The program also stimulates The development of new skills and interests.
Scsep - manpower provides additional income and has helped over 38 older persons retain a sense of involvement with The community. They must be 55 years of age or older with limited earnings for a year.
The retired senior volunteer program (rsvp) provides meaningful volunteer services to over 444 older adults at over 24 non-profit work stations throughout kent county. Adult day care provides a therapeutic program for 42 functionally impaired persons 60 years of age or older to avoid or forestall institutionalization. Social services block grants (ssbg) enables each state or territory to meet The needs of its residents through locally relevant social services. Ssbgs support programs that allow communities to achieve or maintain economic self-sufficiency to prevent, reduce or eliminate dependency on social services.
