Program areas at The Montana Learning Center At Canyon Ferry Lake
The Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake (mlc) provides and promotes quality immersion experiences for all in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem) in a unique lakeside environment. Primarily utilizing residence camps, The common goal across all programs is to foster analytical thinking skills and The ability to make connections across disciplines. Kids camps target students from elementary school through high school, with nearly 450 young campers in 2023, and focus on themes such as earth and space science. All camp staff involved in programming are certified teachers, and projects include searching for and polishing Montana agates, analyzing samples taken from Canyon Ferry Lake, and building and programming robots. The Montana Learning Center offers popular workshops for teachers to help encourage analytical thinking not only at camp but also throughout The regions educational system. The Montana Learning Center is nasa partner through The northwest earth & science pipeline.
