Program areas at The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Pa
The nscda/pa is an organization of women that actively promotes an appreciation of America's heritage through preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects. Since 1899, The nscda/pa has administered stenton, The c.1730 home of william penn's secretary, james logan. Today, stenton is where many of The Society's exciting public and school-age programs take place, including The National award-winning history hunters program, which serves over 3,000 philadelphia schoolchildren each year. A member of historic germantown, stenton works closely with this partnership of 16 extraordinary historic houses and destinations to protect, preserve, and share some of philadelphia's most important historical assets. (continued on schedule o. )The Society also supports woodville, a historic house museum located near pittsburgh, and provides support for projects relating to patriotic service and other educational initiatives, such as National history day.
