New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding enriches and expands the lives of children, youth, and adults with special needs through equine-assisted activities and therapies. It provides different supports to enhance the cognitive, physical, emotional, and/or social wellbeing of individuals with special needs through equine-assisted services. Specific curricula are offered over a multi-week session by NMCTR.

Program areas at New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding

NMCTR provides different supports to enhance the cognitive, physical, emotional, and/or social wellbeing of individuals with special needs through equine-assisted services. NMCTR offers specific curricula that are scheduled over a multi-week session. NMCTRs riding instructors are PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRI). In 2023, NMCTR had 98 volunteers assist in the care of the equines and in providing services to over 150 participants.
