Program areas at The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies

Global Response - Supporting international disability-led organizations responding to local disasters and meeting the needs of the disability community. The Partnership continues to support people with disabilities impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine through our partner. The Turkiye earthquake was another event the Partnership responded to during 2023.
Disaster Response - supporting disability-led organizations respond to and meet the needs of the disability community. The Partnership also offers a Disaster Hotline which provides information, referrals, technical assistance, guidance, connecting of local resources, addressing immediate disability and disaster related rights and needs. Th Partnership received 300 calls/texts/emails and were provided things such as food, water, medical equipment, temporary housing, transportation, home and ramp repairs, and so much more! These calls were in response to events such as severe winter storms, Atmospheric river, Spring tornadoes, extreme heat, Maui wildfires, Hurricane Hilary, Hurricane Idalia and many more.
The Partnership has worked with various private and government agencies to assist with creating and implementing inclusive emergency management and public health trainings, resilience initiative trainings, gap analysis, continuity of operations plans, inclusive exercises/drills, conferences, presentations, and technical assistance navigating emergency management.
