Program areas at The Patricia Arscott La Farge Foundation for Folk Art
Research center - The Foundation received several large book donations in 2023, and much of The year was spent cleaning, cataloging, processing, and shelving a substantial addition to our library collection. Research center walk-in traffic increased slightly in 2023. User numbers continue to be very small (e.g. Ten users per year).
2023 summer internship program - in 2023, The Foundation hosted two summer interns from sfps: mandela international magnet school in santa fe, nm. The interns assisted with marketing of pal gift shop items online and to a wholesale customer in san antonio, tx. They also worked in The research center, assisting with inventory, cataloging, book processing, and shelving tasks. In early july, one of our interns helped us provide logistical support to a family of peruvian artisans participating in The international Folk arr market (ifam). In mid-august, our other intern modeled clothing made by women on The el salitre women's and children's center in lake amatitlan, guatemala.
Pal gift shop - The Foundation maintains a physical shop in its santa fe, new mexico and an online shop on its website (foundationforfolkart.org). Retail traffic was light in 2023, however, we had a handful of lucrative wholesale transactions over The course of The year and a splash of onine sales late in The year.number of people served: 75
