Program areas at The Pittsburgh Project
Youth DevelopmentThe Pittsburgh Project operates a series of afterschool and summer day camp programs for youths in Grades K-12. Through these activities, approximately 325 youth from economically distressed and high crime neighborhoods are encouraged to grow academically, relationally and spiritually each year.
Social Enterprise Program The Project runs social enterprises that are designed to captialize on The Projects human and physical assets in order to provide training, employment opportunities and revenue. By making assets work more strategically, The Project can move toward greater financial sustainability and strategic viability.
Community OutreachThe Pittsburgh Project leads or participates in a number of initiatives to strengthen our local neighborhood through strategic partnerships and youth family/outreach. These initiatives include a partnership with the Urban Redevelopment Authority providing home repaires for 11 low-income homeowners who are below the poverty line, outreach to organizational families and community youth, and partnerships with community-based organizations providing other services to our demographic.
