Plus Me Project empowers middle and high school students to increase confidence for college, career, and community advancement by teaching the art of storytelling. Their mission is to inspire students to discover, develop, and articulate their own stories in safe environments. They bring relatable role models into schools as guest speakers to share their academic journey with students. In the 2019-2020 school year, they visited over 60 schools and impacted over 3,000 students with this program throughout Los Angeles County.

Program areas at The Plus Me Project

Storytellers Plus Me supports students with discovering The power of their own personal narratives. With The help of our customized my story matters journals, students reflect on The impact of theitr life experiences and are guided through articulating The important characters, settings, events, and lessons from their lives. Every student concludes The workshop by sharing their story and connecting with their peers.
Writers Plus Me builds upon The work that was completed in our storytelers Plus Me program. Students continue to reflect on their story, but focus more attention on their writing. With help of our customized my story matters journals, students learn how to further articulate important moments from their lives and draft their stories. Every student concludes The workshop series by completing a drafted piece of their personal narrative.
Leaders Plus Me builds student awareness about The power of leadership our program goals are for students to reflect on what it means to be a leader, assess and act on their own leadership qualities, and participate in meaningful discussions that support in story sharing.
