The Birth Justice project was implemented to support the justice impacted communities of women of color to reduce barriers and increase accessibility to funds and services to build and shift power in ways to advance healthy birth initiatives. Prison ministry, ongoing Covid education, testing and PPE distribution, water and disaster relief outreach, In prison outreach, Justice Impacted Veteran relief, statewide training on re-entry services, and facilitation of job clinics, the quest for democracy-including the possibility of reinstatement of the democratic right to vote, Life Skills training, job development, career exploration services, soft skills training with Google Applied Skills training curriculum for google suite, completion of enrichment camp, the Study and Struggle back to school, school supply fundraiser and drive for children of incarceration parents, senior citizen convalescent services for formerly incarcerated, facilitation of the annual community baby shower, ongoing transitional housing assistance for women released from prison, and access to community based mental health and mentoring services, food donations, and distribution to food desert communities across Mississippi, peer to peer support and networking services, personal advocacy and leadership training. Statewide Re-entry fair providing re-entry resource fair for returning citizens.
