Program areas at The Resolution Center / North Shore Community Mediation
Mediation services are provided as an alternative to The court system in essex county, ma. The organization is approved to accept referrals from The salem, peabody, and gloucester district courts and essex county juvenile and probate and family courts. Our volunteer mediators are present each week in The district courts and on call with The juvenile and probate and family courts. Over 500 essex county residents seeking help from The courts received free mediation provided by our organization's volunteer mediators.
We provide low cost or free mediation services to residents of essex county at an early stage of conflict. We also offer mediation or conflict Resolution training each year to residents, organizations, businesses, and municipalities.
Our youth initiative includes training middle and high school students to be peer mediators and assisting schools develop peer mediation programs. We also provide conflict Resolution training to entire school populations and other youth serving organizations and introduce The restorative circle practice to school communities.
We offer family mediation services to help families navigate conflicts that surface at different phases in The life of a family. These services include couple separation and divorce, parent mediation, elder mediation, and parent/child mediation.
