To help celebrate local history and defend The charm, architecture and character of The Rye community.
Historic preservation-research, stabilization and preservation of The timothy knapp house, 1670, The oldest house in westchester county, includes archeological investigation, reconstruction of front porch, landscaping and grounds.
Educational programs-all programs disseminate knowledge of and appreciation for local history. Museum tours include school tours of The square house and The knapp house.
Collections management and exhibits-cataloging, preservation and conservation of 16,000 object collection on history of Rye. Exhibits disseminate information on various topics related to local history. 2-3 major exhibits per year.
