Program areas at The Shelter
The Shelter helps The residents get back on their feet by providing classes to The mothers covering topics on financial management, parenting, anger management, exercise, health and nutrition, conflict resolution, general life skills, spiritual and professional development. The Shelter and its staff also provide housing case management for its current families/residents (The staff locate and help The residents/families apply for more permanent hosuing), financial case management (many residents need help with budgeting and they need help in saving their monies after they get a job), job skills training with The assistance of another organization, help obtain legal documents and help residents with legal processes, transportation for various appointments (doctor's visit, grocery shopping, etc), and assist The families whose children need to go to an individualized education plan (iep) and individualized family support ifsp).
