The Foundation conducts several events and initiatives under one program, as outlined below:Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot - The Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot supports local charitable organizations, including the Healthier Kids Foundation, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County, and The Health Trust. Founded in 2005, this event has raised over $10 million to support community members in need and is the largest Thanksgiving Day race in the United States.Lam Research Heart & Soles Run - In collaboration with the Santa Clara County Office of Education, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation established the Heart & Soles Run/Walk event to promote childrens health and wellness in Silicon Valley. Lam Research serves as the Title Sponsor, and since the events founding in 2014, it has raised over $800,000 to support the Foundations health initiatives.Santa Run Silicon Valley - The Santa Run Silicon Valley supports Christmas in the Park and Downtown Ice, two beloved San Jose holiday traditions. The event has raised over $400,000 to sustain these community events and has also collected nearly 2,000 children's books over five years for Reading Partners. This festive 5K Run/Walk invites participants to dress as holiday characters, with the race finishing at Christmas in the Park, where participants enjoy seasonal treats like milk and cookies.Hire Learning - Launched in 2018 as "Community College to Career and now known as Hire Learning, this initiative connects Leadership Group member companies, Silicon Valley community colleges, and partner nonprofits. It has provided over 2,000 work-based learning, career exposure, and hiring opportunities to community college students. Hire Learning focuses on expanding access to career opportunities, diversifying the STEM workforce pipeline, and helping students gain entry into innovative industries.
