The Skating Club of Northern Virginia

Club Sessions/Community: Weekly ice time to all members. Regular social events for all members. Club ice sessions promote and educate on the sport of figure skating in a safe environment. 15-20 skaters with 6 coaches, who provide one-to-one training. Community social events allow members from varied disciplines to gather together, building support and friendship.

Competitions: Host US Figure Skating sanctioned competitions for our members and non-members, giving an opportunity to compete and be evaluated on their skating program. Organized and held two competitions. The first annual Synchronized skating competition November 2023 for 10 teams of 15-20 skaters; the 12th annual Theatre on Ice and singles competition for over 400 skaters during the period ending April 30, 2024. Support skaters through grants as they advance in the US Figure Skating qualifiying structure and as they transition to a 2-year or 4-year higher education institution. This scholarship promotes continued ability to engage in figure skating during the transition from high school to college.

Test Sessions: Provide the opportunity for skaters to test so they may qualify to compete at US Figure Skating sanctioned events & advance their training. Includes member and non-member athletes. Administered over 400 tests to over 300 skaters.

Membership program revenue and associated expenses. Membership to our organization provides US Figure Skating membership and allows skaters to test in order to advance through the US Figure Skating structure and compete in US Figure Skating sanctioned events.
