Program areas at The Society of St Vincent de Paul East Jefferson County Conference
UTILITIES: We paid full or partial bill balances to help people keep electric or water service. We assisted people in procuring propane or wood for heating. We also assist in keeping telephone and internet. These expenses were 34% of our budget and benefited approximately 921 people.
GROCERIES: We gave vouchers for groceries to people in dire need of food, hygiene products and other necessities such as diapers. These expenses were 18% of our budget and benefited approximately 488 people.
Transportation: We give vouchers to people in need of public transportation, gasoline, registration fees, insurance, or repair service, so they can continue to get to jobs, appointments, and care for family. These expenses were 27% of our budget and approximately 731 people benefited.
Other program services were 21% of our budget and benefited approximately 569 people. These services included Housing $29,344, Medical expenses, dental, doctors, medicine, supplies, and optical expenses $1,960, Other Misc. (Sanitation, PO Box fees, Child visitation, etc.....) $2,936, Household furniture and repairs $4,789, Laundry $1,800, Clothing $2,215, Storage rental and moving cost $624, Day Care $200. Support to our sister conference in Guatemala ("twinning") $1,000. No amount paid for any one domestic individual in any category was in excess of $5,000. Operating Expense includes office expenses phone, postage, printing, SVdP dues & fees, and insurance. 1% of our total income.
