Program areas at SLC

Community energy efficiency program: provides free or low cost energy assessments and audits for customers. Recommendations are made for energy efficiency upgrades. Financial incentives can be provided to offset a portion of The cost for work to be completed by licensed contractors. The program performed 100 energy audits, 133 final inspections and 126 energy efficiency upgrades in 2023.
Walla walla valley farm to school program (wwvf2s): wwvf2s inspires healthy communities through food, farm and garden experience. Wwvf2s serves elementary children at four area schools with garden maintenance, lessons and procurement assistance and resources. In 2023, The program served 9 gardens in four school districts in The walla walla valley. The program served students with information and resources as well as direct service to 3,960 students.
Builders resupply: a retail store which accepts donations of new or used reusable building supplies and resells them at a significant savings from regular retail. Builders resupply diverted 41.07 tons of usable materials from The landfill in 2023. The builders resupply programed served approximately 5,000 customers in 2023.
Building performance program is audits, final inspections, income verifications and building performance testing performed by Sustainable Living Center staff and not associated with The community energy efficiency program. Seventy-seven inspections were completed in 2023 for The building performance testing program and 1,387 income verifications.
Provides free business and organization advisory service to help reduce energy, water, waste and materials. In 2023, The program provided information and resources to over 100 businesses, organizations, and individuals and conducted over 30 site visits.
